Chemical peels are controlled chemical exfoliation treatments that remove damaged skin layers, revealing fresher, more even skin underneath. We use specific acids (glycolic, salicylic, mandelic, TCA) tailored to each skin condition and type.
Glycolic acid (AHA): general renewal, fine lines, dullness. Salicylic acid (BHA): oily skin, acne, blackheads. Mandelic acid: sensitive skin, melasma, rosacea-prone. TCA (trichloroacetic acid): deeper renewal, sun damage, hyperpigmentation. Combination peels: customized formulations.
Hyperpigmentation, melasma, sun damage, acne, blackheads, fine lines, dull skin, rough texture, post-inflammatory pigmentation (after acne or injury), uneven tone, and overall skin renewal.
Superficial peels (glycolic 30–50%, salicylic 20–30%): no downtime, mild peeling, 4–6 sessions for visible result. Medium peels (TCA 15–35%): moderate downtime (5–7 days peeling), more dramatic result, often single session.
Superficial peels: mild redness, light peeling days 3–5. Medium peels: visible peeling for 5–7 days, social downtime recommended. ALL peels require: strict daily SPF 50+, no sun exposure, gentle skincare, no scrubs or active acids during peeling phase.
Melasma: mandelic peels every 2 weeks + tranexamic acid + obsessive SPF. Acne: salicylic peels every 2–3 weeks. Anti-aging renewal: glycolic peels every 3 weeks for series of 4–6. Sun damage: TCA medium peel + maintenance with milder peels.
For comprehensive skin renewal, alternating monthly Dermapen and quarterly mild peels gives compounding results — collagen stimulation from below + cellular renewal from above. Dr. Catalina Henao designs personalized protocols based on your skin assessment.
