What it really costs, what you actually save, and when flying here for Botox does not make sense.
Flying to Colombia for a single Botox session almost never pays for itself. A round trip from Miami runs roughly $250–450 USD, and the money you save on one treatment area is around $100–200. The arithmetic does not work.
Where it does work is in three situations, and those are the ones this page is written for:
If none of those describe you, the useful advice is to find a good injector where you live. If one of them does, keep reading.
These are the actual consultation prices, converted at approximately 4,100 COP per USD. The rate moves, so confirm before you travel — but the Colombian peso figures are fixed and are what you will be quoted.
| Treatment | Price (COP) | Approx. USD |
|---|---|---|
| One area (glabella or forehead) | $650,000 – $900,000 | $160 – $220 |
| Forehead + glabella | $1,000,000 – $1,400,000 | $245 – $340 |
| Full upper third (3 areas) | $1,400,000 – $1,800,000 | $340 – $440 |
| Masseter / bruxism | $1,200,000 – $1,800,000 | $290 – $440 |
| Axillary hyperhidrosis | Quoted at consultation | — |
The medical assessment and the 14-day review are included. The range inside each row is not a negotiating margin: it reflects the genuine difference in units between a strong muscle and a light one, which is decided during the assessment.
Published US ranges for the same treatments, for comparison:
| Treatment | Typical US price | Here | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Glabella (one area) | $250 – $400 | $160 – $220 | ~35–45% |
| Full upper third | $600 – $1,200 | $340 – $440 | ~45–63% |
| Masseter / bruxism | $600 – $1,500 | $290 – $440 | ~50–70% |
A caution about the way these numbers are usually presented. Many medical tourism pages quote savings of «70–80%» by comparing the cheapest Colombian price against the most expensive US price. The honest figure for Botox specifically is closer to 40–60%, and it only becomes meaningful money when you are treating several areas or combining procedures.
Also worth knowing: the price per unit is a better comparison than the price per «area». An area can mean 8 units or 20 depending on the clinic. Ask.
This is the part that medical tourism pages leave out, and it matters more than the price.
Botox does not reach its full effect immediately. Onset is around day 3 to 5, and the result is complete at day 14. The review appointment exists because day 14 is when asymmetries become visible and when a small adjustment can be made. If you fly home on day 4, you are not there for it.
There is no downtime, so Botox does not cost you holiday time. You can be treated in the morning and have dinner out the same night. The only restrictions are not lying down and not exercising intensely for about four hours.
Applies to this clinic and to any other you are considering.
Because the flight is the fixed cost, most international patients treat more than one thing. The most common combinations:
Prices for each are on their own pages. A combined plan is quoted in the assessment.
The clinic uses Botox® manufactured by Allergan and Dysport®, both registered with INVIMA, Colombia's national medicines regulator. It is the same molecule and the same manufacturers used in the US and Europe.
Ideally two weeks or more, so the 14-day review happens before you fly home. If your trip is shorter, schedule treatment in the first days and arrange a remote review.
Yes. There is no downtime and flying is not restricted. Avoid lying flat and intense exercise for about four hours after the injection.
Consultations are available in English. If you prefer, you can start the conversation on WhatsApp in English before travelling.
For Botox specifically, a realistic figure is 40–60% depending on the treatment and which US price you compare against. Larger savings quoted online usually compare the cheapest local price with the most expensive US one.
The result is complete at day 14. If you have already travelled, the review is done remotely with photographs and a video call. An adjustment, if one is needed, requires an in-person visit — which is why timing the treatment early in your trip matters.
Yes, and most international patients do. It is assessed together and quoted as a plan.
